Barreado
The signature food of the area is a kind of slow cooked-beef stew served with cassava flour and banana slices. meat is sealed inside a special clay pot with a bundle of herbs and spices and cooked for 12-18 hours, after which the herbs and spices are removed. traditionally the cooking was done in a hole in the ground. the origin of the dish is disputed between antonina, morretes, and paranaguã¡, and each town has a slightly different recipe.
